Role: Wood design lead, wood fabrication lead

Skills: Structural design, design coordination between 5 section leads, rough carpentry, team management of a 15 person crew

Zoa takes the shape of four winged seedpods, blown across the desert and landed in a jumbled pile. During the day she provided shade to passers by. At night her illuminated frame serves as the backdrop for musical performances and magical encounters. The structure I designed was a series of curved box girders and covered with a lacy, lightweight shell of luan strips. I designed a repeatable, modular pattern which we CNC cut and overlaid onsite for a final organic look.
