Flybrix

Role: Designed motor arm injection molded part, designed drone assembly configurations for two quadcopters and an octocopter

Skills: Solidworks CAD design, part analysis, DFM, assembly design, documentation of assembly instructions for users

Flybrix is a consumer electronics kit that combines Legos, simple electronics, and basic programing to teach kids (and adults) about the mechanics of drone flight. Because Legos are infinitely reconfigurable, users can design their first build the recommended quad or octocopter configurations, and then design their own chassis, learning in the process how the physics of the structure influences the stability and flight of their drone design.

As the mechanical engineer for the project I designed and prototyped custom injection molded parts to support the drone infrastructure and off the shelf electrical components.
